COLOR DISPLAY APPARATUS USING BI-DIRECTION SCANNING METHOD

A bi-directional scanning type color display device is provided to simplify an optical system and a circuit and to cut down the cost for materials by using a one-panel method so as to reduce two panels from a three-panel method. A bi-directional scanning type color display device is composed of an optical system(610) for irradiating the color light according to a light source control signal; an optical modulator device(630) for generating the diffracted light by modulating the color light according to an optical modulator control signal; a scanner(650) for bidirectionally scanning the diffracted light irradiated from the optical modulator device according to a scanner control signal and then projecting the scanned light on a screen(670); and an image control circuit(680) transmitting the light source control signal, the optical modulator control signal, and the scanner control signal to the optical system, the optical modulator device, and the scanner correspondently to image information to be displayed on the screen.
