A cigarette box has an inner case (2) for receiving an inner pack of cigarettes and having a take-out opening (4) on its upper surface, and also has an outer case (8) for receiving the inner case (2) and having a push window (10) in its bottom wall. The outer case (8) has a hinged cap (12). Wh en the hinged cap (12) is in a closed position, it closes the take-out opening (4) of the inner case (2). On the other hand, when the inner case (2) is pushed up through the push window (10) to be projected from the outer case (8), the hinged cap (12) is pivoted about a hinge (14) from the closed position to an open position in association with the projection, thereby opening the take-out opening (4) of the inner case (2).
