PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress power consumption in a resistance element of a variable resistor at the time of non-operation. SOLUTION: A first resistor 11 and a second resistor 12 are juxtaposed to each other on the surface of a first insulating substrate 31 in an insulated state, and comb-shaped first and second contact patterns 14, 15 are alternately disposed between the first resistor 11 and the second resistor 12. The first contact pattern 14 is conductively connected with the first resistor 11 at a plurality of positions, while the second contact pattern 15 is conductively connected with the second resistor 12 at a plurality of positions. A conductor 13 is disposed freely to make contact with and be separated away from the first and second contact patterns 14, 15. Voltage is applied between the voltage application part 16 of the first resistor 11 and the voltage application part 17 of the second resistor 12 from a voltage output 21, and in a non-pressed state that is a standby state the first resistor 11 and the second resistor 12 are made non-conductive to save consumed power.
