PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a signal transmission device and a method capable of transmitting a plurality of signals simultaneously through a single channel. SOLUTION: In a signal transmission device for transmitting and receiving a differential signals employing a transmission line, the signal transmitter is provided with a transmitting unit and a receiving unit. The transmitting unit is connected to one end of the transmission line to transmit a mixing signal in which a single end signal is mixed into the differential signal. The receiving unit is connected to the other end of the transmission line and restores the differential signal and the single end signal from the mixing signal. The clock edge of the single end signal is provided with a phase difference of 90°with respect to the clock edge of the differential signal. According to this constitution, two signals can be transmitted through one channel whereby the area of a circuit can be reduced. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
