PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simply handleable apparatus for observing a combustion chamber without requiring utility such as water. SOLUTION: The apparatus for observing the combustion chamber is inserted from a peephole 3 provided in the upper part of the combustion chamber of a coke oven. The apparatus comprises a body part 11, a lid part 12 coupled to the body part 11, a heat insulator provided in at least one of the body part 11 and the lid part 12, a camera housing space A and a photographing optical path-forming space B formed in the interior of the heat insulator.
