PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of an abnormal electrolytic state when water temperature detection means fail (short circuit/braking) in an electrolytic water generating apparatus for generating the electrolyzed water having a predetermined characteristic regardless of a change in water temperature of water to be electrolyzed by adjusting a salt concentration of the water to be electrolyzed or a value of an electric current carried by both electrodes in response to a change in water temperature of the water to be electrolyzed. SOLUTION: In this apparatus, when the water temperature detection means output abnormal high temperature or low temperature caused by failure, a controller changes the control of the salt concentration of the water to be electrolyzed or a value of the electric current carried by both electrodes into control corresponding to an upper limit or a lower limit in the range of the water temperature at which the water to be electrolyzed is regularly used to prevent the occurrence of the abnormal electrolytic state.
