PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify the complicated operation requiring repeat in a conventional expression cloning method and to enable the function of a candidate gene to be predicted to enable a membrane function protein to be screened more efficiently. SOLUTION: The candidate gene is efficiently narrowed down by introducing a technique of analysis using a gene-solidified sample such as a DNA chip to an assay system of various kinds of membrane function proteins using an oocyte. The function of the candidate gene is predicted by utilizing a siRNA and anti-sense RNA technique having activities for inhibiting the function of a specific mRNA, or a membrane-penetrating region-retrieving system such as SOSUI, MEMSAT and TopPred.
