<p>A snap joint for two halves (1, 2) of a plastic housing consists of hooks (3) engaging projections (4). Alternating with these hooks along the joint line are inner reinforcing ribs (5) so that when the joint is made the walls have to deform in a wave-like manner. The rib (5) is a close fit against the inner surface of the opposite wall (8). The ribs (5) are arranged to be in the opposite half to the hooks (3). The ribs (5) have a gentle radius (9) and a lead-in taper (10). They are molded in one piece with the housing, at least one half of which can be a thin-walled plastic shell.</p> |
