A cement fabricated from crushed clinker incorporates a filler made up of 3 to 25 % by wt of purged dust from the by-pass (12) of a cement plant rotary furnace (7) including some undesirable elements such as chlorides and/or sulfates and 75 to 97 % by wt of a mixture of chalk and/or silt. Independent claims are also included for: (a) a method for the fabrication of a cement filler in which silt and/or chalk is mixed with purged dust from the by-pass of a cement plant rotary furnace; (b) utilization of purged dust from a cement plant rotary furnace incorporating some undesirable elements and chalk and/or silt for the fabrication of a filler added during the crushing of cement clinker.
