Method involves supplying of target initial value of given or selected cooking program to a comparator circuit. Relevant cooking compartment temperature is measured and measured value is supplied to the comparator circuit in device control. Measured value of the relevant cooking compartment temperature is compared with the target initial value or selected cooking program in the comparator circuit. A cool down function is preluded if the measured value of the relevant cooking compartment temperature is higher than the target initial value of input value or selected cooking program. A heat up function is preluded if the measured value of the relevant cooking compartment temperature is lower than the target initial value of input value or selected cooking program. The opted cool down or heat up function is conducted to reach the target initial value of input value or selected cooking program. Announcement is accomplished by acoustic and optical signal after reaching of the target initial value of input or selected cooking program. An independent claim is also included for the cooking appliance with temperature measuring device.
