PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to display the information about positions of control rods and abnormalities with a display means installed newly in a region hardly affected by other failures even if a reactor control panel and the like located in a place away from an abnormal spot cannot display any positions of the control rods because an abnormality occurs in a signal transmission system or a component of a control rod position monitor. SOLUTION: A control rod position monitor consists of a conversion means 22 for inputting a contact signal (b) which is output from control rod position detectors 10 mounted on a reactor to identify the positions of the control rods and converting the signal (b) into the information (n) about the positions of the control rods, an abnormality detecting means 23 for inputting the contact signal (b) and detecting its abnormality to obtain the information about the abnormality, a spot position detector 11-A equipped with means 24 to 11c for outputting the information (n) about the positions of the control rods and the information (e) about the abnormality to a transmission channel 30 and a position monitoring controller 12-A for inputting the information (n) about the positions of the control rods and the information (e) about the abnormality from the transmission channel 30 and outputting them to a control rod position displaying means 12c for monitoring the operation of the reactor to display them.
