PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an undrawn polyester yarn having excellent dyeability and made of a polyester having excellent dyeability and free from the problems of the degradation of color, staining of spinneret, increase of filtering pressure and yarn breakage in the fiber production process. SOLUTION: The undrawn polyester yarn is composed of a polyester compounded with a specific titanium compound and a specific phosphorus compound and containing 0.4-5.0 wt.% colloidal silica particles having an average primary particle diameter of 0.02-0.10μm and the yarn has a birefringence (Δn) of 30.0×10<SP>-3</SP>to 50.0×10<SP>-3</SP>.
