Disclosed herein are a capacitor comprising an electrode made from an electroconductive material and activated carbon in combination with quaternary ammonium tosylate, and a method for manufacturing the same. The method enables the preparation of a high capacitance electrode without special facilities. The capacitor exhibits high specific capacitance and a high energy density.
