An LCD is provided to make it possible to reduce the distance between an LCD panel assembly and a protection window, thereby realizing the decrease in thickness of the LCD, by forming the protection window within a frame of the LCD panel assembly. An LCD comprises an LCD panel assembly, wherein the LCD panel assembly includes an LCD panel(130) and a frame(116) for containing and supporting the LCD panel. The frame has an opening part for exposing a display area of the LCD panel. A protection window(110) is distanced from the display area of the LCD panel at a predetermined interval. The protection window is fixed within the frame. A stepped protection is formed within the opening part. |
