<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a distributed cache system which is configured with a plurality of cache servers and can be applied to a large scale network. <P>SOLUTION: The distributed cache system configured with a plurality of cache control servers manages content information managed by each cache control server in a divided manner. A cache cooperation router transfers a request for a content to the cache control server managing the content information when the content requested from a client is stored in the distributed cache system. The cache control server is provided with a function for notifying its own address to a distributed cache system when the distributed cache system is added.
