<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an imaging apparatus which can favorably reproduce an object for various object conditions without requiring a time for determining a point of inflection becoming the boundary of a linear conversion region and a logarithmic conversion region in an electric signal outputted from an image sensor while offering a favorable operational feeling to a user. <P>SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus comprises an image sensor having a plurality of pixels capable of outputting an electric signal converted linearly for the amount of incident light and an electric signal converted logarithmically, a means performing the alteration control of a point of inflection becoming the boundary of a linear conversion region and a logarithmic conversion region, a means for detecting the luminance of an object, and a means for storing the position of a point of inflection preset in correspondence with the luminance of an object. Based on the luminance of an object detected by the means for detecting the luminance, the means for controlling the point of inflection performs the alteration control of a point of inflection stored in the storage means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
