<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exothermic agent made from a metal, such as aluminum, or its alloy powder enclosed by a film stable in an atmosphere but soluble in water quickly. <P>SOLUTION: This exothermic agent is made by enclosing the metal or its alloy powder with the thin film formed on the surface of the powder. The film is made such that soda lime, calcium oxide, or a mixture of soda lime and calcium oxide are added to the powder and a resulting mixture is agitated at a room temperature to perform a solid phase reaction. The exothermic agent containing the aluminum metal powder as a main component has a start time required for heat developed of 10-20 s, a maximum temperature of a water vapor of 100°C, a retention time of 20-30 min and pH of a water vapor of 7.5-8.0. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
