<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of restraining the occurrence of an abnormal image even under very inadequate environment where much dust or the like exists. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is equipped with: the cooling mechanism having a suction means 21 sucking outside air into the apparatus, a filter means 22 provided on the upstream side of the suction means 21, air ducts 20 and 23 guiding the air sucked from the suction means 21 to a section to be cooled in order to cool at least the section to be cooled, and a pressure adjusting means 24 for making all of or a part of air pressure in the apparatus higher than on the outside; image forming sections 5 and 6 for forming the image on paper; and a fixing section 12 fixing the formed image on the paper.
