<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately estimate a magnet temperature of a permanent magnet provided in a rotor of a motor as a calculation load is inhibited from excessively increasing. <P>SOLUTION: The magnet temperature estimating section 37 is provided with a heat generation limiting/calculating section for setting a heat generation limiting state and a heat dissipation limiting state in response to a motor rotation speed NM inputted from an angle calculating section 36 as a change state of the magnet temperature corresponding to an operation state of the motor 12 and estimating the magnet temperature Tmag in the heat generation limiting state for incrementally changing the magnet temperature Tmag in response to a control process time, and a heat dissipation limiting/calculating section for estimating the magnet temperature Tmag in the heat dissipation limiting state for decrementally changing the magnet temperature Tmag in response to the control process time.
