PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To further improve luminance, in a manufacturing method of an EL element of which the luminance can be improved by irradiating a luminescent layer with a laser. SOLUTION: In this manufacturing method of an EL element, a transparent first electrode 2, a first insulation layer 3, the luminescent layer 4, including a luminescent center, a second insulation layer 5 and a transparent second electrode 6, are sequentially formed on a transparent insulating substrate 1, and the luminance is improved by irradiating the luminescent layer 4 with a laser having a wavelength of 320-420 nm. The first electrode 2, having a through-hole 2a piercing in its thickness direction, is formed, the first insulation layer 3, the luminescent layer 4 and the second insulation layer 5 are formed on top of it, and thereafter the luminescent layer 4 is irradiated with the laser.
