PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition which is large in hysteresis loss, is excellent in breaking characteristics and compression permanent set, and can exhibit good workability, when used. SOLUTION: This highly damping rubber composition comprises at least a rubber component and a hydroxyl group-having petroleum resin. The hydroxyl group-having petroleum resin is preferably the modified product of one or more selected from petroleum resins obtained from the C5 fraction and C9 fraction of naphtha. Or, a product obtained by introducing phenolic hydroxyl groups, alcoholic hydroxyl groups or carboxyl groups to a petroleum resin is a preferable mode. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
