PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid ejector which is adapted to high definition or high speed by shortening the distance between the surface of a nozzle plate and an ejection object while preventing troubles caused by static electricity generated from a recording paper, or the like. SOLUTION: A nozzle plate 30 obtained by boring a nozzle opening 32 in a conductive substrate is bonded to the distal end of a recording head. The nozzle plate 30 has a contact region S set at a part of the surface deviated from the nozzle opening 32. Under non-recording state of a recording head, a conductive contact member 81 regulated to the ground potential is touched to the contact region S so that potential charged in the nozzle plate 30 is removed from the nozzle plate 30.
