PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a head mounted type image display device excellent in operability when an image display unit is used again after it is not used for a short time after the use, and preventing user's visual field from being disturbed when it is not used. SOLUTION: The head mounted type picture display device includes a supporting part 500 whose one end is fixed on a hat 100 put on user's head 99 in order to arrange the picture display unit 1 near to user's eyeball 51. The supporting part 500 is divided into two parts, that is, a first arm 21 and a second arm 22. The first arm 21 and the hat 100 are coupled through a first coupling part 11, the first arm 21 and the second arm 22 are coupled through a second coupling part 12, and the second arm 22 and the picture display unit 1 are coupled through a third coupling part 13. The first coupling part 11, the second coupling part 12, and the third coupling part 13 respectively have a turning means having one degree of freedom in one rotating direction.
