PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a material testing machine capable of making a screen display user-friendly which is used for setting a test condition and the like. SOLUTION: A control unit 2 of the material testing machine is configured so as to able to connect to an external general-purpose storage device such as a USB memory 22 or the like. When the storage device is connected, user information stored therein is read out automatically, and the content of a screen for setting the test condition which should be displayed on a display device 21, is changed automatically in accordance with the read out user information, for example, the level of skill or the like, thereby enabling a condition setting operation to be carried out which uses setting screens perfect for respective users ranging beginners to skilled persons.
