PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a welded retainer for guiding outer diameter with attackability on a housing relieved. SOLUTION: This welded retainer 11 is manufactured by cutting a plate material to a predetermined length, bending a cut plate material in a cylindrical shape, and welding the end part of the bent plate material. The outer diameter surface 17 of the welded retainer 11 is brought into contact with the inner diameter surface of the housing to guide it along the outer diameter. The entire surfaces of the outer diameter surfaces 17 of the annular part and the columnar part 14 of the welded retainer 11 are circularly ground. When the outer diameter surface 17 of the welded retainer 11 is brought into contact with the inner diameter surface 29 of the housing, the attackability on the housing 21 is relieved, and the wear of the housing is reduced.
