PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lifting device for a platform member which allows a reduction of dead space and prevents the dead space from being increased even if the lifting range of the platform member is enlarged. SOLUTION: The device is equipped with a rotor 7 and a long member 18 wound around the rotor 7 and pulled out of both sides of the rotor. While maintaining the relationship that both sides of the long member 18 are converged in the rotor with respect to the rotation in one direction by the rotor 7 and released from the rotor 7 with respect to the rotation in the other direction and the effective length of the long member 18 is extended with the rotation of the rotor 7, the device is provided with a drive mechanism for rotating the rotor 7. In accordance with the expansion on an effective side of the long member 18, a platform member such as a shelf P linked to the long member 18 is lifted up/down. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
