<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a code information reader and a communication system using it capable of fully preventing an incorrect setting by a user. <P>SOLUTION: A radio system includes a plurality of code information readers 100, a plurality of access points, and a host computer. Setting of the plurality of code information readers 100 is performed by a user's creating of a two-dimensional code 500 for setting including reader set information and making the code information reader 100 read the created two-dimensional code 500 for setting. A "serial number" is beforehand assigned to the code information reader 100. The two-dimensional code 500 for setting is created for every code information reader 100. The two-dimensional code 500 for setting includes the "serial number" indicating the corresponding code information reader 100.
