PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device of an automatic transmission capable of assuring such a marketability that does not result in drawing shock and racing of engine. SOLUTION: This control device of the automatic transmission comprises an oil temperature detection means detecting the temperature of a hydraulic oil, a waiting determination means determining whether or not the transmission is in an uncontrolled state in which the residual amount of the hydraulic oil in a frictional engagement element on a destination stage is less than a predetermined level, a waiting standby pressure calculation means calculating a waiting standby pressure as a hydraulic pressure command value during the preparation, a waiting standby time calculation means calculating a waiting standby time during the preparation when the transmission is determined to be uncontrolled by the waiting determination means, a waiting torque phase pressure calculation means calculating a waiting torque phase pressure as a hydraulic oil pressure command value in torque phase when the transmission is determined to be uncontrolled by the waiting determination means, and a waiting torque phase time calculation means calculating the waiting torque phase time of the torque phase when the transmission is determined to be uncontrolled by the waiting determination means.
