PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus etc. capable of simultaneously satisfying the following three points of being high performance, being a small size for improving mobility etc., and enabling a zooming sound not to be recorded in imaging an animation. SOLUTION: A DSC 29 enables animation imaging or still picture imaging by the imaging device SR to be switched. A magnification optical system OS of the DSC 29 has a plurality of lens groups (GR1 to GR5), while 4 lens groups (GR1 to GR4) among them can be movable. A locus of movement of magnification performed by at least one lens group among the lens groups to be moved is different between the case of zooming in the animation imaging and the case of zooming in the still picture imaging.
