PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform resume playback in a network player 40 for media which plays back digital contents of a server device 46 for media. SOLUTION: An interruption detection means 41 detects the playback interruption of the digital contents. When the playback interruption of the digital contents is detected, a resume information storage means 42 stores resume information concerning the digital contents and the interruption position. A resume detection means 43 detects the resumption of playback operation in a network player 40 for media. When the resumption of playback operation is detected, a requesting means 44 submits a request to send data from the interruption position related to resume information about digital contents concerning the resume information to the server devices for media 46 or 50.
