PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a server device for media which can appropriately perform resume playback in the server device for media or a network player, in a circumstance in which the network player can play back digital contents held by the server device for media, a control method, a program, the network player, and a digital content playback system for a network. SOLUTION: A first interruption detection means 41 detects the playback interruption of digital contents in the network player 46. When the playback interruption of the digital contents in the network player 46 is detected, a first resume information storage means 42 stores information concerning a digital content which is playback-interrupted, and its interruption position as first resume information. When the server device 40 for media performs playback as a player, a playback control means 43 starts the playback of the digital content concerning the first resume information from a playback position based on the interruption position concerning the first resume information.
