PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for desalting condensate which make it possible to obtain the high-purity quality of treated water which contains a low concentration of sulfate ions and nitrate ions deriving from organic impurities eluted from cation resin and anion resin. SOLUTION: In a method for giving a desalting treatment to condensate at a nuclear power plant with ion exchange resins, the condensate is designed to be treated in a condition where the ion exchange resins form a mix bed made by mixing a cation resin of a strong acid gel type with uniform particle sizes and an anion resin of a strong base 1 type with Gauss particle-size distribution and the cation resin and the anion resin are mixed almost uniformly from the upper layer part to the lower layer part in the formed mix bed. As the cation resin, an ion exchange resin whose crosslinking degree is between 10% and 16% inclusive, whose average particle size values range from 450 to 600μm and whose resin particle abundance ratio will be 95% or higher in a range of the average particle size values±100μm may be used.
