PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a glow plug provided with an electric resistance element being excellent in fast heat properties, oxidation resistance, and processability. SOLUTION: The glow plug is provided with the electric resistance element containing 20-60 mass% nickel, 5 mass% or less iron, and the balance being inevitable impurities and cobalt.
