PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigeration air conditioner that is capable of providing a comfortable indoor space immediately after construction work by collecting foreign matter remaining in existing piping while performing an air-conditioning operation when an existing heat source side unit and an existing load side unit are updated by use of a refrigerant whose operating pressure is higher than that of another refrigerant used in the existing heat source side unit and the existing load side unit. SOLUTION: The refrigeration air conditioner includes a refrigerant circuit in which the heat source side unit A comprising a compressor 1, a heat source side heat exchanger 3 and an accumulator 8 is connected by existing liquid piping 28 and gas piping 29 to the load side unit B comprising throttle means 5a, 5b and load side heat exchangers 6a, 6b. The air conditioner includes a refrigerant heat exchanger 18 for creating refrigerant in a gas-liquid two-phase state that is caused to flow in the existing liquid piping 28 and gas piping 29 at the start of the air-conditioning operation to enable a washing operation, and that is condensed by the load side heat exchangers 6a, 6b to enable a heating operation, and an oil tank 17 that fills the refrigerant circuit with oil after the predetermined washing operation has been performed.
