PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oil receiving device by which a manufacturing cost can be reduced and the oil surface height can be easily and accurately observed. SOLUTION: This oil receiving device has a main body 19 which surrounds a sliding part and protects the lubricating oil from spluttering, a bottom board 20 which forms the bottom of the main body 19 and has a drain 23 from which the lubricating oil provided to the sliding part is drained, a window 29 through which the oil surface height of the lubricating oil can be viewed while a sewing machine frame 10 is positioned in its tilted position, and a stop cap 26 which is attachable to and detachable from the drain 23.
