PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To flexibly and appropriately execute the reliability judgement of a focus detected result matched with the exchange of an image pickup unit in an electronic camera with focus detection function. SOLUTION: In this electronic camera with a focus detection function provided with an image pickup means 1 for picking up optical images formed by a photographing optical system Z and outputting the image signals, a focus detection means 2 for detecting the focus adjustment state of the photographing optical system Z and a reliability judgement means 3 for judging reliability for the detected result of the focus detection means 2 and judging whether or not a focus is detectable, a reliability reference change means 5 for changing the judgement reference of the reliability judgement means 3 corresponding to the picture element density of the image pickup means 1 is provided. |
