PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic still camera that quickly displays related images in the case of reproduction so as to allow a user to select a desired relating image and to provide its image data recording and reproducing method. SOLUTION: An image pickup control section 500 controls each section to execute a series of image pickup control such as zoom control, focus and exposure control in the case of photographing. In particular, the control section detects zoom magnification and gives it to a related image detection section 502. The related image detection section 502 detects the correlation between a present image and images before and after the present image on the basis of the zoom magnification to detect related images. A related image generating section 504 generates the information of the related images detected by the related image detection section 502, especially a related position, as a clickable map. A recording control section 506 records each image together with the related information. A reproduction control section 508 displays the entire images with the related information of zoom images and reproduces and displays a related zoom image when a user clicks a correlation position denoted by the clickable map. |
