PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine with a simple structure whether or not a vehicle moves backward. SOLUTION: When a transmission is changed into a forward gear or a reverse gear (S1, S5), and discharge pressure of an oil pump driven with a rotating shaft of the transmission becomes negative pressure (S2, S6), a vehicle is determined to retrogress as regrade (S3, S7). When the vehicle goes backward, the transmission is driven with a driving wheel so that the rotating shaft rotates in the reverse state and the oil pump also reverses.
