The tiling adaptor 10, for use in shower floors and the like, comprises a body 12 with an in use upper surface 18 with a perimeter edge 24 for lying flush or substantially flush with an in use upper surface of adjacent or abutting tiles, an aperture 14 formed in the body for waste water to pass into the wet floor waste and a system for directly or indirectly engaging the body of the tiling adaptor with the wet floor waste. The engagement system preferably includes a stepped bore 30 of the aperture which defines a clamping surface 38/40 for receiving a clamp element of the wet floor waste, with one or more screw threaded fastening devices securing the adaptor to the wet floor waste. The upper surface of the body preferably slopes downwardly from the perimeter edge to the aperture. A flange, which may be discontinuous, preferably extends from the lower perimeter edge. Also claimed is a wet water waste, a method of installing a tiling adaptor and a method of selectively installing a tiled floor surface or a flexible waterproof floor covering on a shower area. |
