Method of portioning a batch of laundry

The method involves splitting a lot of laundry treated in a laundry machine comprising a base (19) and a drier (31), to two lots. The weight of the laundry is determined before and during the loading of laundry in the machine. A portion of laundry is unloaded, until the sequential determination of the weight of the laundry remaining in the machine is achieved. The weight of the laundry corresponds to the weight of the overall lot of the laundry in the machine. An independent claim is also included for a device for treatment of the laundry.
