An image processing method of an electronic terminal and the electronic terminal thereof are provided to display effect information to be applied to an image displayed on a screen as the terminal is shaken, therefor lots of image presentation is available. A controller of an electronic terminal pre-stores at least one piece of effect information for executing an effect function to be applied to an image and a program for setting the effect information in a memory(S101). A menu processor displays a random image on a screen(S103), and decides whether setup of an effect function is requested(S105). If so, the menu processor provides a menu setup window for a user to select the effect function(S107), and a user selects desired effect information(S109). A recognizer decides whether shaking of a mobile communication terminal is sensed(S111). If so, an image extractor extracts image information on a position corresponding to sensed information(S113). An image synthesis processor synthesizes the extracted image information with the effect information for executing the effect function(S115). An image display processor reflects synthesized images to display the reflected images(S117).
