A method for marking characters or figures on an aluminum article is provided to prevent characters, logos, or pictures from being peeled off or erased in spite of long-time use by marking the characters, logos, or pictures on an exterior panel like a cellular phone or a camera by a laser. The method for marking characters or figures on an aluminum article comprises the steps of: forming a first oxidation film layer on the aluminum article; forming a laser processing hole on the surface of the first oxidation film layer by marking characters or figures by a laser; forming a second oxidation film layer on the aluminum article exposed through the laser processing hole; and forming a coloring layer by partially coloring the second oxidation film layer with the desirable color.
