<p>The method involves characterizing communications channels by a set of technology dependent identifiers, which form a technology dependent identification schema. Another technology dependent schema is defined based on another set of technology dependent identifiers that is assigned to the channels. The channels are alternatively identified with the former, latter or both sets of identifiers. The channel comprises an objective unit of a communications network, and the latter schema is stored in a local database that is assigned to the unit. An independent claim is also included for a product comprising units, which are equipped to completely execute a method of identification of channels of communications networks.</p> |
