[Also in Divisions A5 and B8] In an applicator head formed integrally with or attachable to the neck of a container, a block 50 of porous foam, preferably coarse polyurethane, is held under compression between cover 20 and a resiliently urged valve head 30. In assembling the applicator head, the block 50 is forcibly intruded, through hole 28, into the space between web 26 and the previously assembled cover 20. The cover includes an outer ply of brushed knitted nylon fabric and, bonded thereto, an inner ply of coarse polyurethane foam. The spring 32 may be formed integrally with valve head 30. |
