PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To develop the utilization of techniques for a self-organizationally formed spherical transition metal complex. SOLUTION: The spherical transition metal complex is a complex self-organizationally formed from at least one kind of bivalent transition metal compound and at least one kind of bidentate organic coordinating molecule. A method is to modify the outer and/or inner surfaces of the spherical transition metal complex by introducing a functional group into the bidentate organic coordinating molecule.
