Handle for a household appliance

The handle has a gripping part (1) that is designed as an elongated rod. A fastening part (2) is provided for fastening the gripping part to a unit e.g. door leaf, of a household appliance. A casing (5) is attached to the fastening part in a form-fit manner. The gripping part and the fastening part are formed as a single piece from plastic. The casing extends till the gripping part, has a connection profile corresponding to a cross-sectional profile of the gripping part and is made from material e.g. aluminum.
