An image forming apparatus having a guide member to guide fed paper is provided to prevent a leading edge of the paper fed to an image forming unit from being jammed. An image forming apparatus having a guide member(235) to guide fed paper(1) includes a feeding roller to feed the paper, the guide member to rotate from a guide position of guiding the paper fed by the feeding roller and a standby position spaced apart from the guide position, a press roller(238) to press the paper guided by the guide member, and a heat transfer unit(232) to contact the paper at a position opposite to the position of the press roller and to sequentially heat the surface of the paper. The image forming apparatus further includes a rotation unit to rotate the guide member. The rotation unit rotates the heat transfer unit to reciprocate between an inactivate position and an activate position where the heat transfer unit contacts the paper to face the press roller in association with the rotation of the guide member. The rotation unit includes a rotating plate and a driving motor to rotate the rotating plate.
