An equipment for removing scale of a hot rolled casting slab is provided to further improve removal efficiency of scale by closely adhering multiple knife means onto a surface of the hot rolled casting slab, and remove scale adhered onto the surface of the casting slab more easily by dropping removed scale into a predetermined space without scattering and spraying cooling water onto the surface of the casting slab at an inner side of the knife means. An equipment(1) for removing scale of a hot rolled casting slab comprises: a supporting member(10) disposed at one point of a casting slab drawing line of a continuous casting plant such that the supporting member surrounds the hot rolled casting slab; and a plurality of knife means(30) connected to an inner side of the supporting member such that the knife means are movable forward and backward and closely adhered onto the surface of the casting slab to remove scale on the surface of the casting slab that is being moved. The equipment further comprises cooling water spray means(50) closely connected with the knife means to spray cooling water onto the casting slab at an inner side of the knife means. The supporting member is composed of a lower side-opening type pipe assembly fabricated by steel pipes(10a) for enabling supply of cooling water. The knife means have a body plate(30a) formed at the center thereof, and a pair of knife plates(30b) integrally connected to both sides of the body plate. The equipment further comprises cylinder means(70) comprising a cylinder body(72), a spring(74) and a piston(76).
