A mobile communication terminal system having a cheering function and a controlling method thereof are provided to enable a user to cheer a sport game through a mobile communication terminal and to maximize additional functionality. A mobile communication terminal system having a cheering function comprises a display unit(2), a terminal controller(3), a memory(4), a motion recognition unit(5) and a voice unit(6). The display unit(2), installed on a side of a main body of a mobile communication terminal, cyclically displays specific colored signals in accordance with cheering when a cheering function is set. The terminal controller(3) controls a display function of a specific color for cheering, controls a cheering standby function in accordance with inputting a slide button signal for synchronization, and processes overall transmission or receipt function of wireless signals. The memory(4) stores each kind of information processed in the terminal including each cheering level information or display information of specific colors. The motion recognition unit(5) detects shaking degree of the mobile terminal and outputs the detected shaking degree. The voice unit(6) receives a cheering sound control signal from the motion recognition unit(5) according to a function control signal of the terminal controller(3) and generates set cheering sound.
