Provided is a method for preparing doenjang(fermented soybean paste) to remove the specific unpleasant odor of doenjang and to improve the taste, perfume and color of doenjang. The method comprises the steps of dipping elvan and tourmaline in water and injecting the washed soybean to the water for soaking it for 10-15 hours; heating the soaked soybean in the bath containing elvan and tourmaline for 3-4 hours to boil it; manufacturing meju(fermented soybeans) from the soybean and drying and fermenting the meju; and putting the fermented meju in the salt water of a jar where elvan and tourmaline are dipped and maturing it for 60-100 days.
